New partnership with Quantum Optics Jena

Together for security in data transmission in the future - that is the focus of our new partnership with Quantum Optics Jena. At the PMRExpo in Cologne, our colleague Dr. Thomas Lebeth, Vice President Advanced Technologies and Innovation, and Dr. Kevin Füchsel, CEO of Quantum Optics Jena, have sealed the co-operation with a handshake. We are delighted that we can now get started and work together to support companies and authorities in protecting their data from attacks by quantum computers

dacoso and Quantum Optics Jena partner to introduce quantum-safe encryption technology for businesses and government agencies

Langen / Jena, 26.11.2024 - dacoso, a leading IT service provider for networks and cybersecurity in the DACH region, and the start-up Quantum Optics Jena, a pioneer in the field of quantum encryption, today announced a strategic partnership. Together, the companies will offer innovative security solutions that protect critical infrastructures against threats from quantum computers in a future-proof manner.

The rapid development of quantum computers and artificial intelligence is increasingly challenging traditional, mathematically based encryption methods. Thanks to their enormous computing power, quantum computers could be able to decrypt data that is still securely encrypted today in the future. New, future-proof encryption methods are needed to counteract this risk.

Quantum Optics Jena is breaking new ground here by using quantum optics: by using entangled photon pairs (light quanta), a secret key is generated that is used to encrypt and decrypt data.
This method, known as entanglement-based key distribution (EKD), makes data communication tap-proof - even against attacks by quantum computers. This technology is of particular interest to customers with the highest security requirements, such as government networks, critical infrastructures and financial institutions.

dacoso has been actively involved in the development of quantum-safe encryption solutions for many years.By partnering with Quantum Optics Jena, the company is expanding its portfolio in the field of cybersecurity.
“Quantum Optics Jena is a pioneer in the use of quantum optical solutions,” explains Stefan Hofmann, CSO dacoso. “We are not only impressed by the performance of the technology, but also by the seamless integration into data center links and networks. The collaboration enables us to continue offering our customers maximum security in the future - completely made in Germany.”

In September 2024, Quantum Optics Jena successfully closed its second financing round led by Join Capital and is now continuing its growth trajectory.“Our solutions are ready for the market,” emphasizes Dr. Kevin Füchsel, CEO of Quantum Optics Jena.
“With dacoso, we have a strong partner at our side with in-depth expertise in both data networks and encryption technologies. Together, we provide companies and authorities with highly secure and scalable protection against new types of risks, such as quantum computers and artificial intelligence.”
