IT Security Meets Connectivity: dacoso Group Sets Strategic Growth Path
Carla Breidenstein : Updated on February 19, 2026
Digital transformation is confronting companies with unprecedented challenges. In a market environment shaped by rapid technological progress and increasingly strict security requirements, the dacoso Group is realigning itself. With a clear strategic division into the business units “Connect” and “Protect” as well as central shared services, we are sending a clear signal as an IT service provider. We spoke with our CEO, Felix Pohl, about the reasons for this realignment, the role of technology leadership, and his optimistic outlook for the year 2026.
„We create clarity in a complex digital world.“
Felix Pohl, CEO of the dacoso Group, on the new business unit structure, ambitious growth targets for 2026, and why security and connectivity are inseparable today.
Carla: Felix, the dacoso Group is presenting itself with a new structure. Instead of a monolithic approach, there are now two clear pillars: the business units Connect and Protect. What triggered this significant transformation?
Felix: The trigger was clearly the market and the needs of our customers. We realized that while connectivity and cyber security are increasingly converging technologically, they require very focused specialization in operational excellence. Our customers today no longer expect a general “IT service provider”, but absolute specialists.
With the BU Connect, we are consolidating our decades of experience in high-performance networks and data center interconnect. BU Protect focuses consistently on cyber security, SOC services, and the active defense against threats. This clear separation enables us to dive deeper into both areas, act faster, and drive innovation in a targeted way without losing the holistic perspective.
Carla: You mentioned innovation. How does the dacoso Group ensure that the units do not become isolated silos working side by side?
Felix: That is a crucial point. This is exactly where our new, group-wide shared services come in. They form the backbone that connects Connect and Protect. Finance, HR, marketing, and central technical platforms are brought together here. This relieves the operational units of administrative workload and ensures that we consistently leverage synergies. Connect builds the road, Protect provides the guardrails and traffic control – and the shared services make sure the engine of the entire organization runs smoothly. This way we remain agile and avoid silo thinking.
Carla: Let’s talk about the market. With which new service offerings does the group intend to further expand its technology leadership in these areas?
Felix: In BU Connect, we are consistently focusing on automated network solutions and managed services for business-critical infrastructures. Demand for bandwidth is exploding, while at the same time the need for intelligent control is increasing. In BU Protect, we are massively expanding our Cyber Defense Center (SOC). We are relying on AI-based analytics tools that can detect attacks before they can cause damage.
For us, technology leadership today does not just mean having the best hardware, but above all delivering the most intelligent services on top. We don’t just sell technology; we deliver resilience and availability.
„For us, technological leadership today doesn´t just mean having the best hardware, but delivering the smartest services on top.“

Carla: That sounds like significant investment. How financially stable is the dacoso Group in order to consistently continue on this path?
Felix: We are standing on an extremely solid foundation. The dacoso Group is profitable and has grown organically. This financial stability is our most important asset, especially in volatile times. It gives us the freedom to plan for the long term and to invest countercyclically when others have to hit the brakes. Our customers value this reliability. They can count on us still being their partner in five or ten years. The new structure is not a cost-cutting measure, but a targeted growth initiative that we are launching from a position of strength.
Carla: Looking ahead to 2026: how do you assess business development?
Felix: I am very confident. Our plans for 2026 are ambitious but realistic. We expect significant growth, driven by the strong demand for secure digital infrastructures. Digital sovereignty is becoming a matter of survival for companies in Germany and Europe. With our setup, we address this need exactly. I see us in 2026 not only as larger, but above all as even more relevant for our customers. Our goal is to be the first point of contact when it comes to highly available and highly secure data connections.
Carla: How are your colleagues reacting to these changes? Such structural change often causes uncertainty.
Felix: The key is open communication. We deliberately designed the entire process to be very transparent. This makes it clear that the new specialization offers all employees very concrete additional development and career opportunities. A security analyst simply has different requirements for training and working environment than a network architect. In the new BUs, we can respond much better to the different professional profiles. The mood is correspondingly positive, because the team feels: we are not managing the status quo, we are going on the offensive and shaping the future. That is motivating.
Carla: Finally, Felix: what is your personal vision for the “new” dacoso?
Felix: My vision is a dacoso that is synonymous with trust in the digital world. When a customer thinks of dacoso, they should be sure: my data flows quickly (Connect) and my data is reliably protected (Protect). We reduce complexity for our customers so they can focus on their core business. To this end, we are building the infrastructure for the digital Germany of tomorrow – stable, secure and innovative.
Carla: Thank you very much for the conversation, Felix.
Conclusion: Specialization as a Growth Driver
The strategic realignment of the dacoso Group is far more than an organizational restructuring. It is, above all, a response to the growing complexity of digital transformation. By dividing the company into the Connect and Protect business units, we are creating the necessary operational depth to deliver absolute top performance both in high-performance networks and in cyber security. The combination of financial stability, technological innovation, and centralized shared services forms a robust foundation for long-term, sustainable growth.
A look ahead to 2026 also paints a clear picture: the demand for secure, highly available digital infrastructures will continue to rise. With its new structure, the dacoso Group is optimally positioned to benefit from this trend. In particular, the focus on digital sovereignty and AI-supported security services matches exactly the requirements of European companies, which are increasingly forced to prioritize data security and regulatory compliance.
The message is clear: in a world where connectivity and security are inextricably linked, the dacoso Group offers both in an integrated manner from a single source, delivered by specialized experts. The promise “We create clarity for a complex digital world” is thus evolving from a vision into a measurable lived reality.
